Founder of Martijnschaap.com, a leading training organisation with over 20 years of experience in enabling business leaders.

“My interest in trade, sales, and building relationships started at a young age. Although my parents were not always happy with their 14-year-old son’s full garage, I think they were secretly a little proud. After studying at the HEAO and working for a shipping agent in New York for a year, I started selling photocopiers and fax machines which kickstarted my passion for entrepreneurship. After working for companies like Nashuatec, IBM, and Orange Business Services, I decided at the age of 30 to start my own business. Initially, I focused primarily on practical business skills, but after extensive research, I realised that success is also dependent on the subconscious mind of a person. My greatest endeavours have included founding a recruitment & selection agency, expanding a real estate firm with a branch in South Africa, acquiring an installation company, and guiding large international companies in the development of their (sales) organisations. But while these were successful in business terms, they also helped me deepen my relationship with myself and my purpose.

That’s why my passion lies in helping people and organisations reach their full potential. I guide individuals to grow both personally and professionally because I believe that the combination of the two is the real secret to success. What we do is more than just business for me – it’s a way of life. The act of running a business that brings meaning to the lives of our clients is what drives me every day. We don’t want to keep this secret to ourselves; we want to share this way of life with aspiring entrepreneurs too! Our proven model has been trialled and perfected over the years, and I am excited to grow this franchise, ensuring that successful entrepreneurship training is as accessible as possible”

Leroy has been part of the Martijnschaap.com team since 2019 and is responsible for internal digital developments such as implementing new innovations and optimising the business process. In addition, he also shares his expertise through one-on-one coaching for employees and clients across sectors.

Mark van Dam has seven years of experience as a Martijnschaap.com partner. He has thoroughly enjoyed taking on the challenge of inspiring new clients to put people at the centre of their business decisions, based on the philosophy of MartijnSchaap.com.

“From a young age, I have had a curiosity for what motivates people to do or not to do certain things. This evolved throughout my career, and in my work for various companies I was always fascinated by the question: ‘How do individuals with identical education and job titles, yet varying levels of success, differ?’ I only found the answer to this question after a training course at Martijnschaap.com. I couldn’t believe that this knowledge and “way of life” was only being provided to me now. I immediately knew that I had to become a partner to share these inspiring methods and change as many lives as possible, just as they changed mine.

Before my time at Martijnschaap.com, I worked at various large companies, including ING, Univé, and Sanoma. In my past roles, I built competencies in time management and mentorship. Joost has been a partner at Martijnschaap.com since 2019. His main coaching goal is to help people gain energy from their work in a sustainable way. His approach strives for an optimal balance between efficiency, results, and enjoyment.

“I find it fascinating how beliefs guide our behaviour and how our brains work, so developing people and organisations gives me a tremendous amount of energy. With the tools from Martijnschaap.com, every training session is a joy to deliver. The approach and subject matter really impressed me when I first encountered it four years ago, and I’m grateful to continue working with it. I always share my enthusiasm with the people I get to train because the impact it has on participants is significant. Predicting behaviour, in particular, is magical for participants. I am the proud father of two: Bente (12) and Tijn (7). My children, like me, are quite athletic. Raquel has been working at Martijnschaap.com since 2015. Her specialty lies in team building and coaching by highlighting the individual talents of each team member. She understands that a strong team begins with each contributor.

“I have always been interested in digging deep into personal motivation and behaviour change. Since 2010, development of self-awareness is a core theme I work on every day, both for myself and clients. I facilitate this through a collaborative approach that also takes into account the unique cultural facets of each team and organisation. One of my core values is equality, which is why I am also an advocate for empowering female leaders. Self-awareness is incredibly relevant for ensuring women are in the best position to lead and grow in their organisations. I often focus on having my female clients recognise how they can better relate to their environment in order to increase their individual potential.

Is it possible to implement my own ideas and initiatives within the partner model?

As a partner, you have the freedom to implement your own ideas and initiatives as long as they fit within the guidelines of the model. We always encourage new ideas and fresh perspectives on best ways forward, so we may even implement them at the organisational level.

What does my first day as a partner look like?

First, you will receive technical training, where we explain how to work with our systems and tools. Then you will go through a train-the-trainer program, where Martijn Schaap will teach you how to train our concepts and prepare you to become the best trainer you can be. You will also attend training with existing partners to get their unique insights and support.

What kind of support can I expect?

In addition to the intensive onboarding program, we offer support with lead generation, time management, customer contact, and much more. You are not alone. However, we do expect an entrepreneurial mindset to drive your learning outcomes!

What does the business model look like?

The business model is as follows: you receive 80% of the revenue you generate (with the exception of special custom projects) and contribute 20% to the organisation. This revenue is fully reinvested in the Martijnschaap.com organisation to further grow the business and ensure a quality experience for partners like you.

What are the exit possibilities for me as a partner?

As a partner, you enter into an agreement for a minimum of 12 months (maximum of 60 months). After the minimum period, you can decide to terminate the agreement. After termination, it is no longer possible to use the concepts, tools, training methods, and other intellectual property of Martijnschaap.com.
